Background: The concept for this painting came about when I was serving in the Army. Myself and a fellow Soldier were on guard duty one night and he proceeded to describe to me this idea he had always had for a painting. I drew up a quick sketch and then later he commissioned me to paint it for him. The concept for this painting always stuck with me and intrigued me. A few years after I retired from the Military I decided to recreate it while still remaining true to its original source. I think this version is my favorite.
